Crisis/Respite Nursery & Shelter
Crisis Respite Nurseries are available at all Family Support Centers, and many centers also offer a crisis shelter. Unlike day-care centers in the community, Crisis Respite Nurseries are a free, temporary program offered to caregivers with children ages 11 and under.
Respite care is offered at our centers during regular operating hours. It provides a temporary safe haven and meaningful experience for a child that allows short-term relief (2-3 hours) for parents or primary family caregivers to attend to their own and other family members’ health, social or emotional needs. It is a preventive strategy that strengthens families, protects their health and well-being, and allows them to continue providing care at home.
Crisis respite is available 24-7, and it’s the perfect place to turn when life throws the unexpected at you.Our trained and qualified staff care for your children in a safe, homelike environment, while parents address critical family issues.
Crisis & Respite Nurseries are offered at all of our locations.

Crisis Shelter
Family Support Centers work with the Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) as a crisis shelter facility for children when they are removed from the home and placed in DCFS custody. While in shelter with us, children receive care from our highly-trained staff in a safe, home-like environment.
