Children visiting the Center enjoy safe, structured, and fun activities. They are fed nutritious meals throughout the day. The daily schedule includes craft activities, learning time, play time, and quiet time. The Center is committed to providing each child with a safe and happy visit. Staff members are well trained professionals and paraprofessionals with experience working in the areas of family preservation and child abuse prevention.

Services Offered

Youth Mentoring

The FSC's Youth Mentoring program guarantees young people that there is someone who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter.

Crisis/Respite Nursery Services

Our nurseries provide crisis and respite childcare for children ages 0-11 years. Our caregivers have background screenings, are thoroughly trained in childcare and trauma, and are CPR/First Aid certified. Respite care is a planned break and is scheduled in advance for up to three hours per week during regular business hours (9 am-9 pm Monday-Saturday). Crisis care is extended childcare for parents in a crisis situation where there is no other safe alternative for the children. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for up to 72 hours at a time.

Home Visitation

Our Home Visitation Program provides parenting support in your own home. Our Family Advocates serve as peer mentors and meet regularly with parents to teach parenting skills and attachment and regulation strategies. We follow a 12-month parenting curriculum to help clients achieve personal and individualized goals. In-home respite childcare is also provided as funding allows.

Visitation Exchange

The FSC facilitates visitation exchanges for children of all ages in order to provide a safe, controlled environment where a peaceful transition between parents or caregivers can occur. This free service is offered during regular business hours (9 am-9 pm Monday-Saturday) and limited Sunday hours if required.

Parental education

We offer regular parenting classes that are open to the community at no charge. Childcare is provided when funding allows. Other parenting education classes, such as Family Finance are offered occasionally. Please see the calendar on the FSC website for available classes in your area.
