In Memoriam

In Memory of Stan Rosenzweig

Stan RosenzweigStan Rosenzweig served on the Family Support Centers of Utah Board of Directors with extraordinary heart, vision, and dedication. He helped shape FSCU into the strong, statewide network it is today.

Stan was instrumental in establishing FSCU’s first official board of directors made up of respected community leaders. Working alongside Lynn Samsel, he drew from his vast network to build a highly effective board with diverse skills and experience. That board first met in late 2020, with Lynn as Chair and Stan as Vice-Chair. When Lynn later stepped down due to a family matter, Stan assumed the role of Chair and continued to lead with clarity, humility, and heart.

In January 2021, when FSCU’s executive director was unexpectedly hospitalized with severe COVID pneumonia, Stan coordinated with leadership at The Family Place and the new FSCU board to ensure strong representation at the Utah State Legislature. Thanks to his leadership—and the efforts of many—FSCU successfully secured TANF funding that year, a pivotal moment in the organization’s growth.

Over his years of service, Stan brought strategic insight, quiet strength, and deep compassion to everything he did. He believed fiercely in the power of prevention, connection, and community—and he supported each Family Support Center guided by these values. Whether mentoring new board members, strengthening partnerships, or offering words of encouragement, Stan challenged everyone around him to achieve excellence.

Stan later served as Chair Emeritus and Member-At-Large, continuing to share his wisdom and support with the board. An avid skier with a love for the great Utah outdoors, Stan was on the slopes just weeks before his passing—a perfect reflection of how he lived: fully, joyfully, and without regret. His legacy will continue in the work we do and in the lives we reach.
