The Family Place
Logan
Logan
The Family Place was established in 1982 as a small facility in Logan, Utah, known as The Child & Family Support Center. We began with the goal of providing a safe shelter for children involved in crisis situations. Since then, we’ve expanded to meet the needs of all families in our community. We now have three locations in Logan, Hyrum, and Smithfield and serve families in Cache, Rich and Franklin Counties.
The Family Place’s mission is to strengthen families and protect children. We do this by providing fun, family-focused events in the community. We also offer a variety of services such as therapy, educational workshops, and our Kid’s Place. The Family Place will always be a place for families of all kinds. We welcome anyone who wishes to grow closer to his or her family to come learn with us!

Kid's Place
The Kid’s Place is a free, temporary program offered to parents with children ages 11 and younger. We provide a safe place for children to stay when caregivers need extra support. Emergency Care is available 24-7, and it’s the perfect place to turn when life throws the unexpected at you. In the event of an emergency (medical emergency, parent well-being, working out legal matters, etc.) our trained and qualified staff care for your children in a safe, homelike environment. Scheduled Weekly Care is offered during regular operating hours, giving caregivers a 2-hour break they can depend on weekly so they can recharge. While in our care, kids participate in planned activities such as art and sensory, or outdoor time. We also help teach emotion regulation in our Comfort Corner.
Starfish Children's Shelter
The Starfish Children’s Shelter is a loving home for children in transition to foster care. While in shelter with us, kids receive care from our highly-trained staff in a safe, home-like environment. They also begin the road to healing with trauma-informed care and counseling services from our licensed therapists.
Trauma Resiliency Project
At The Family Place, we are specially trained through The National Child Traumatic Stress Network to help families, children, and individuals understand and overcome trauma. The Family Place’s Trauma Resiliency Project aims to provide effective treatment and services for children ages 11 and younger (and their families) who have experienced a traumatic event. Examples of these events include the death of a loved one, abuse, domestic violence, community violence, parental separation, being involved in a serious accident, bullying, refugee trauma, military trauma, and any other event that significantly impacts a child’s ability to cope.
Adult Mental Health First Aid
The Mental Health First Aid program’s goal is to provide education, outreach events, and promotional efforts to increase awareness in the community while also reducing the stigma surrounding mental health. Please see our website to register for upcoming classes.
